2014 Mitsubishi Pajero - The next generation 2014 Mitsubishi Pajero is predicted to get a new engine, new interior and fresh front mask. Despite a trend towards city friendly vehicles, the automaker says the upcoming Pajero will remain a serious 4-wheel drive model. The next-generation Mitsubishi Pajero may go upmarket and even offer a plug-in hybrid variant, but the automaker is reportedly “still considering how to evolve it.”

Considering the automaker’s push to become an electric and hybrid technology brand, a Pajero or Montero PHEV wouldn’t be surprising, especially in light of the GR-HEV concept that debuted at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. The GR-HEV is a diesel hybrid truck that uses a 2.5-liter diesel engine with an electric motor, automatic transmission, and electronically controlled four-wheel drive.
Plug-in hybrid technology from the Outlander PHEV could help the automaker meet increasingly strict fuel economy and emissions standards around the world. Luxury touches could also be added to the next-generation model, as well, though there’s no word on whether we’ll ever see a Montero/Pajero in the U.S. above the new 2014 Outlander.

The automaker hasn’t revealed much about 2014 Mitsubishi Pajero, but they have bigger plans for next generation vehicles and would be worth waiting for it.
